How to start a December 1st Christmas Box Tradition

How to make a December 1st Christmas Box:
When I was a child, my mom always gave us new Christmas pajamas on Christmas eve. It was something I always looked forward to. I love the idea of doing this tradition with my own kids, but with a twist. I give my girls them on December 1st rather than Christmas eve so they can wear their Christmas jammies for the whole month of December. In addition to new jammies, I also always include a Christmas book. And that night they get to read the book during bedtime in their new Christmas pajamas.
I gift the December 1st box during breakfast. I simply tie up the pajamas and book together with a pretty ribbon (no wrapping). But if you wanted to make more into a Christmas “box” you could also include a candy cane, advent calendar, hot chocolate, or a new tree ornament and put it into a cute box or basket.
I deeply believe that holiday traditions are more just about the gifts. They are a way to make little ones feel important and loved. And of course, it helps them (and us!) get into the Christmas spirit.

Pick a Pine Tree by Patricia Toht. A sweet story about the traction of picking out a Christmas tree.
